Gasping for air on a 5 minute Z5 effort!?

    OK, thanks guys. This started with the intervals day before yesterday and then I took the PFT seriously. After all this feedback I am going to prepone my doctors appointment and hopefully this is something stupid like Mucus built up due to irritation or something.

    A quick last question. Does EIA act up consistently every time you exercise? I know my efforts a month back did not act up and I was able to go all out several times.

    Fluid or mucus in lungs could be pneumonia, bronchitis or something else, all of which require immediate evaluation by a doctor. I don't think an allergic irritation would cause mucus in the lungs.

    Mostly, but not always. If it has some allergic compontent as well then maybe not. It can also develop overtime. As others have said, it could be several things and you are doing the right thing by seeing a doctor asap.

    In the meantime, personally I'd give the intensive intervals a rest
