Gent - Wevelgem
The event was first run in 1934, and it is often called the sprinters' classic due to its flat finishing terrain. Its early-season date means riders are often tested by wind and rain. Further challenges include a number of climbs, including two ascents of the cobbled, difficult, and often selective Kemmelberg. Despite its name, the race hasn't started in Ghent since 2004, traditionally beginning on the market square of nearby Deinze. The course then sets westward towards the Belgian coastal region, after which it moves southwards near the French border towards the Monteberg and Kemmelberg, before heading towards Wevelgem. Gent - Wevelgem News

looking forward to it and to those video postings following the race !

Boonen responded to Cancellara.
Very strong finish from him. He beat Bennati and Farrar in the sprint. It looks like he found his sprinting form again.

The most concerned man after this weekend probably is Gilbert. He's on good form, but he can't outsprint Boonen, neither he can ride away from Cancellara. What should he do in order to beat them?
Today he tried something like Cancellara yesterday... Bridging the gap to escapee and passing him by. He even pushed him a bit with his hand to signal he's in his way, but his confidence was bigger than his ability. Immediately, there was bunch on his wheel.

I think Boonen will wait for the sprints from select group of riders and Chavanel, Terpstra, van Impe will go in breakaways. Chavanel was very good today and Terpstra was yesterday, but far from Cancellara. Quickstep will need two men with Cancellara. There could be Gilbert's chance. He should be able to beat all Quickstep riders following Cancellara, and Roelandts can stay with Boonen.
There will be Garmin and Sky with multiple options, similar to Qickstep, too.

Should be very thrilling De Ronde and Roubaix.

What a **** race, everyone who wanted to avoid Cancellara thought they could fraudulently do something here. Well i'm sorry to say, most followers can see through these shallow tactics.

the sprint was specially difficult to negotiate, as they caught up the last person from the break during/inside the last 300 meters of the race, directly in the sprinting line !

I think the most entertaining thing of the entire race was Cav's post ride interview (on cyclingnews) and his choice comments about the Movistar rider that ploughed into the back of his bike.

Boonan had a handy sprint at the finish.

Nice to see Gilberts true colors. A week after Greipel pulled his guts out to help Gilbert in San Remo, Gilbert turns around and tells Greipel that he's on his own in the finale because that's just the way it's gonna be and he didn't want to risk a crash.

Cav all alone, chasing back on at the bottom of the Kemmelberg, the first trip up. He certainly had some back luck that day.
