Unlike the Shimano equivalent, it is not obvious how to remove the freehub
assembly. Anyone have the know how?

the bike is a Giant XTC840If it is a ball and cone hub the freehub can generally be taken off
with a 11mm or 12mm hex wrench through the non-drive side.Steve Sauter
