    Hello All,

I could really use some advice. In retirement I'm coming back to cycling and based on research, conversation and trial I decided that a cross-over would be my best bet. I went to the local bike store looking for a Giant Roam XR1 which had what I wanted and was in my price range. The sales guy talked me into a Norco XFR1. I like the bike (only 10hrs and 100k in the week since I got it), but I've done some research and now I'm not sure that he was completly honest with me. I now know that he moved me to the Norco XFT1 because that's what they had in stock. From what I've been able to determine, the Giant Roam XR1 is a better bike. Fortunately, this dealer has a 30 day satisfaction guarantee and I think I can exchange it if I push and do so fairly quickly.

Does anyone have an opinion on these two bikes? Here are the web links. Please note that although the Norco is listed as having Avid DB-3 brakes, what's installed are Tektro Gemini.

Your input would be very much appreciated. As I said, I like the Norco but now I'm having buyers remourse and think I should have held out for the Giant. What do you think?

    Thanks all.
