That is the link for the race.

I have NEVER raced before. I know I need a license and what not, however it says I can pay for a one day license when I get there. Obvisouly I'd be in the beginner class (Cat 5 correct?), so just some quick tips would be very much appreciated! Anything I should know to make registration easier?

Anything!

Thanks!!

An 8 mile criterium??? Good grief!
Sit in the middle of the pack for 7.5 miles - forget all aspirations of winning until you've made it that far without getting dropped - then consider yourself successful for finishing.

I watched the 4th Street Crit last year. It looks pretty tough. Not sure,I'm not a racer yet. 4 right hand corners, start off on a slight up hill, the back of the course is down then up. I saw a lot of people get dropped off the back. But it still looks like fun. I plan to go see it again this year. Thought about racing but my fitness level isn't there yet. I don't want to be the one guy that goes down with heart failure...

Are you still planning to ride the crit on the 10th? Let me know. I'm going to be there. Not racing but watching. Maybe I can lend some moral support.

Talk to you soon.

Word, I might go, too. I'm at school just north of Charlotte. If you live close, PM me and we can ride.
