GM Hitch-Mounted Bicycle Carrier, Anyone use or know who is the OEM?

I do a lot of Mtn. Biking and have traditionally used Yakima (top of
the car) bike racks to haul my bikes around.

Now that I have my Z71 I was looking at getting a hitch mounted bike
rack, I want to use the bed for all the camping gear, etc...

Has anyone used the GM hitch mounted rack from the GMGoodwrench
accessory shop? How is the quality, I have pretty nice Mtn. Bikes
($2k+) so I need to make sure they don't slop around and are held nice
and snug.

I was going to go ahead and get another Yak Rack but I ran across the
GM version, it's cheaper (which may indicate quality), I just wanted
to check thoughts, experiences, etc... with this rack if avail.

Looking for a rack that can handle at least four bikes.

Thanks!

BTW: A link to the GM Website for this rack is:

Have you asked the people at your local dealership? If they dont know, walk
away. things like that they should know.

One question though. You have a Full Sized Pick Up, why not use the box,
like it was intended for?

Local dealerships don't have much information around these neck of the
woods, that's the wonders of being in the middle of corn-fields. :(

As far as the bed, as I stated, there is not enough room to hold four
bikes, all the camping/vacation gear, AND still make room for what my
wife manages to buy when we do vacation. ;)

I look at it differently, the bed is to throw anything into and run, I
want a bike rack that keeps my bikes prestine, my main bike is $2k+
and by the time I add on the rest, we are in the $5k range, hence I
like to keep them isolated from the rest of the gear. I like the
scratches and dents to come along with the scratches and dents on me
body when I crash, the manly way. ;)

Thanks!

A friend had one. It was made by Thule. GM can, however, change on a dime.

http://gmc.parts-performance-accessories.com/ $118.30

i used a yakima roc-4 for years that worked great. the model is
apparently being discontinued and can probably be scored for about
$160 online, perhaps with free shipping. it was simple, but
overpriced like most rack products incl. yakima, thule, saris, ... .

the gm rack sounds great! the extras incl. a lock and straps! my
only concern is that its capacity of four bikes is overly optimistic.
loading and unloading may take finesse to keep from beating up the
frames&wheels.

the roc-2 is the same as the roc-4 with two less cradles. carrying
two bikes on this rack is a no-brainer... with a couple of straps to
keep the wheels from flailing about. i load/unload almost daily and
really like to keep things easy.
