My Mechanic just gave me two beers to try

Dogfish Head Immort Ale http://www.dogfish.com/beer.html

Allagash Grand Cru http://www.allagash.com/beers.html

I cant decided which would be best with Clam Chowder.

The Dogfish sounds kind of heavy for Clam Chowder. I'd go with the Allagash.
