  1. I got myself a 2nd hand Polar S710. I'm fairly happy with it. Using the software, you can chart your HR, distance, speed, altutide, etc.

Now....does anyone know if there is a function (on the software) to tell you the gradient on a climb (or descent)? It's got all the info it needs: distance and altitude. It seems to be a fairly simple calculation and a nice feature to have.

    Polar??? Are you listening ???

Any hills in Perth????? I get the impression it is fairly flat.
I'm intending to visit for a week in September & clock up quite a few ks.

Mmm...."Hills" would be a bit of a stretch, but yes, we do have some minor hills in the nearabouts. approx 300-350 meters high. The scenery is beautiful though, lots of wine valleys, fruit trees and roos.

    cheers

Once you download the data from the watch onto your computer just open up the graph. Then place a lap marker at the start of the climb and another at the end. Then when you hover the mouse over the ending lap marker you will get the information for that "lap". Speed, distance, average gradient, etc. will be displayed.
