    sounds like Melbourne Cup day,

I will take Weekend Haussler, then the field for second and third, in a box trifecta.

    how does that sound grates?

    Depends on 4 factors.

If they can finish on the velodrome

    How did Boonen ride Flanders

Will his bike last the journey

    Columbia's tactics

He is definately in form. I don't think he will win, but he will come top 5. The only way he wins is to do what O'Grady did a few years back. And with a strong Columbia squad, he might be able to do it. It's a big goal this year for Team Columbia and they gotto nullify the quick step team with very good tactics.

In anycase my Flanders picks are now going to be up.

Boonen has been getting his form to peak around this time.

Haussler is having wins all over the place.

Pozzato has started to show some very good signs and his wins over the past fortnight were of extreme quality.

    Therefore.

    1st - Pozzato
    2nd - Haussler
    3rd - Boonen

In a bunch sprint I expect Haussler to try and repeat MSR but Pozzato will be there with him and unfortunately for Haussler he will be a bridesmaid again. Boonen battles out third a bike length away.

    bullshit grater.

All it depends on, "will more teams that Columbia get on the startline".

Hincapie can win, if only Columbia turn up for the race.

grater you are jumping round, all you take is the last 3 races, and throw in a few classic results of yesteryear.

lets be a bit more nuanced. Ring up Vroomen and White from Cervelo, ask them if their Chinese pharmological counterfeiter has delivered their order.

I just think Pozzato takes this. I have this feeling about it. He is starting to peak. Boonen is showing me some crap signs. And Haussler won't get it right again but will finally get it right for Roubaix, however.

Haussler has no real form in the Ronde. Never done better than 89th in 4 attempts, although he did crash once and has a DNF in 2006.

Based on that, you'd have to say a top 20 finish would be a great result for him.

    Haussler's Ronde van Vlaanderen palmar├ęs:
    2008 91st
    2007 107th after a crash
    2006 DNF
    2005 89th

    What about his MSR?

    2006 35th
    2007 - NS
    2008 - 131st
    2009 - Nearly won

Whilst you are right he has had a crap record here, he also had a crap record at MSR and nearly pulled it off.

    Vuelta al Pais Vasco.

Again like Paris-Nice. Even though Contador is in this and some other strong riders, this event suits LLS. There is no mountain top finish for starters. LLS is an attacking rider and a good descender and 2 of these stages have climbs close to the end which he will do what he is famous for. The time trial at the end will be the test.

I expect LLS to probably win stage 1

He is up against Samuel Sanchez, Sastre, Rogers, Kirchen, Lovkvist, Contador, Evans, Cunego etc. Cunego will be looking for Amstel Gold and La Flech Wallone. Evans sucks. Rogers will be fine tuning form. Kichen coming back from injury. Sastre - don't know

    Overall

    1. Luis Leon Sanchez
    2. Alberto Contador
    3. Samuel Sanchez

I'm not going to fully cover the stages of the Basque country.

That prediction is the overall. Looking pretty good with how the riders went last night.

I will however have a stab at stage 2.

    1. Freire
    2. Nocentini
    3. Davis

Freire will be close to the guys at the last climb and make his way back and ready to win a sprint with only about 40 - 60 guys. Depending on who can make it back after the last climb.

    Gent-Wevelgem

Cavendish to win from Cooke and Rojas

Have to go with Cavendish - if it all works well, he wins.

I've gone with Baden Cooke to make a surprise and Rojas aswell.
