Actually (b) in my original post was a mix of gravel, mud, squished
leaves and farm poo.

The lanes round here might see a dozen cars per day - all kinds of [censored]
is able to collect.

Twice today I was almost unseated by the front wheel doing a shimmy on
Road [censored] as I negotiated (a) a junction, (b) a bend by a field gate.

Almost makes me consider wearing a h..... ok, maybe not.

Also had *another* visit from the puncture fairy today, second in as
many days, following over 4000 puncture-free kms.

Must be the Road [censored] 🙁

I think I discovered the world's most dicey cornering surface
yesterday.

Bottom of hill and sharp corner outside pub. Not usually a problem
unless the previous night was Carnival night and the smooth cobbles
are covered with crushed plastic beer glasses, a dash of rain, a spray
of grit from the gritter.

Gave me some unwanted fun on the way to work yesterday.

My worst gravel experience. Coming home from the rifle club on my bike
age 12. Very very hot summer day so stripped down to shorts. Wizzing
along the unmade road come gravel track I hit a brick and go flying full
length along the surface.
After an interval of a few hours I look like a huge walking scab. Very
painful 🙂
