Hello, on my new road bike, i get a coating of gravel on the tires as I ride. Much of it does not fall off when I continue riding, and causes an annoying tick-tick-tick sound, as if the tire was covered in thorns.

Is this normal for a road tire? Not sure if they are just cheap "stock" tires or if I should consider something different. There is quite a bit of gravel around here as it's how the asphalt roads are treated.

Thanks,

Court

I have had gravel stick to my tires before but it always fell right off as I got onto a clear patch of road again. Maybe you just have a really sticky tire. What kind of tire do you have on the bike?

Looks like theyre made by Specialized, called "Mondo". the stock tires that come on the Specialized Allez.

Don't worry about it. It happens on chip & seal roads, especially on warm days.
