Great day on the south side ride

Hi all.

I had the makeup artist come to my house on Thursday, over the objections of
my wife. I had only a limited amount of time and big ambitions so something
had to give. My kids went to school at 8 and arrive around 3.30. I had to
pick my artist up at the train, so I asked her to be there at 8. She
arrived
around 8.30 and we spent at least an hour talking about clothes I liked and
how they'd work before getting down to business. She shaped my eyebrows
(only
a bit, but it made a HUGE difference!), showed me how to use a concealer
over
my foundation to mask somethings I really didn't like, showed me the right
way
to do shadow and how to use an eyebrow definer. I had to do one eye, which
took several tries, mostly with the eyeliner pencil. For some reason, I do
better with a liquid eyeliner, but not always good. She did a great job and
contrary to my expectations I did not sweat like a pig and shake the whole
time. I was quite comfortable and after she was done I took a good long
look
in the mirror and asked myself, "guy or girl"? and I thought the answer was
"girl" so out we went.

She also went through several of my outfits. I had a teal dress that she
pronounced "beautiful" but my legs were not shaved and she said it wouldn't
work with black hose. My red dress was deemed inappropriate for VA,
although
she said it would be fine for NY. She decided on my purple top and knee
length black pleated skirt, so that's what I wore. She also thought my
padding was a bit much and my breasts didn't look quite right so I used a
smaller pad and she was happy that it was more "proportional".

I had high hopes of going to (in order of priority) a Payless Shoe Store,
Target, Syms, Ross, and Loehmans, which are all fairly close together. The
first four are within an easy walk of each other. By the time we were done
it
was well after noon and I really wanted to drop her off by 2 so I could put
everything away and take everything off.

Before leaving we discussed maybe getting something to eat (as long as she
orders; my voice does not match my new look) but she thought some shopping
would be fun. She wanted to get some smokes first, and although I could
have
stayed in the car while she walked into the 7-11 I thought this was a fine
first test.

NO second look from anyone. It was difficult to see if anyone was looking
at
me funny because you guys warned me not to make eye contact with men but I
glanced about as much as I could and saw no-one giving me an odd look. Or
much of any look. I guess I'm too old a lady to attract much attention.
And
probably taking out the extra pads helped my anonymity.

On to Payless where I tried on some boots (it's HARD to keep your knees
together when trying on boots!) and a couple of pairs of shoes, but I didn't
find anything that I really wanted. Just feeling free to try on shoes was a
great thrill though!

It was late enough that we decided to head back to the train station. First
she called a friend who lived near the station to see if they could get
together. They could so I drove her there and she introduced me to her
friend. Given the rest of the day, I would've taken the two of them to
lunch
and shopping afterwards. Without it, I said hi and chatted a few minutes
and
went home feeling GREAT.

Most of the pictures she took came out blurry for some reason. I did
salvage
a couple of good ones; if anyone's interested I posted them on a page
available to me.

Once again, I don't want it indexed and cached so I won't put the full URL
here. It's on http://members.cox.net/ebaybooks/ and you have to add the
file
pix.htm .

Comments are welcome!

And thanks for all your help and support.
