I'm going to be experimenting soon w/road shoes + cleats--Look style. I opted for the Nashbar
Ventoux pedals and Lake CX125 shoes. Lake makes a couple of model #'s of the same basic design.
These seem to be very well made and super stiff. The big selling point was that the sole is
constructed w/heal and toe pads of grippy rubber that protects the cleat and keeps one from slipping
when walking around. The Lake website describes these as perfect those into "spinning" classes, but
they should work fine for all sorts of riding, benting, touring, etc. Here's the clincher: I bought
my pair at Pricepoint.com for about $25! They seem to have a pretty good selection of men's sizes.
So for around $60, one can experiment with a completely different pedal system. I'll report to the
group after I've had some experience.

Cheers, Scott
