A lot of people in my neck of the woods have switched to Griffen bike frames and seem to love it! Anybody know more about them? Comments?

I am also in your neck of the woods. I know that Griffen recently relocated from California to North Texas.
I have no personal experience with Griffen, but I do know several guys that ride their work. I have heard nothing but great things about the company.
