Steve,

Frequently when I visit I see that there are a great number of guests on the board. Often 3 to 10 times the number of registered users. I am wondering if that number reflects people visiting cyclingforums.com alone or does it also include the folks on the use.net sites?

At the moment there are apparently 44 active users

A break down looks like:

8 registered users
7 'human' guests
the remaining 29 guests, is actually google indexing our pages :D

Mind you its not out of the question to see 30-40 human users on the forums at any one time, my estimate is there are 5-6 lurkers for every member.

cheers!

HUMMMM...

I never thought it would break down quite like that. Thanks for the answer.

With my website, I am finding that it is harder than I ever dreamed to get a real handle on how many people actually visit, how many pages they look at, etc. I know that we are getting pretty good visitation and we are confident that membership numbers will support that as Milan-San Remo approaches, but to state exact numbers of visitors just isn't possible.

Thanks

Thats just a built in feature on the forum, it doesnt take into account people viewing now forum pages.
