Discussion in 'General Fitness' started by John Scheleur, Aug 7, 2004.

  1. Hi! Looking for someone who has done the end-to-end walk. Have some
questions in preparation for our attempt in September. Thanks, John in

    | Hi John, your best bet would be to post your question srtaight away.
    | You may then hit lucky and someone who's done the walk will be around
    | and be able to answer your question immediately. You might also find
    | someone who hasn't done the walk but has knowledge of a particular
    | aspect and can help with a answer or comment.
    |
    |
    | You might also try searching in groups.google.com on this topic there
    | have been a few post over the past few months. I can't recal specifics
    | but if you search on Hadrians Wall [Walk} as well as
    |
    | Vindolanda
    | Houseteads
    | Segedunum
    |
    | These three are sites of archaelogical interest from Roman times and
    | are intrinsically linked to the Roman Wall

There are very many more Aercheological sites on Hadrians wal most of which
are under the guardianship of English Heritage. Many of these sites may be
visted free of charge. Without doing the maths I would think that getting
the *visitors* deal at the first EH site you find would be worthwhile.

There is a map of HW EH sites on line but the URL escapes me, because of
the stupid EH site design. :-((((( Click around from above URL to find it.
