Things are looking pretty good for Paolo. Imagine if someone here would have
suggested that Savoldellu and Discovery would have 20 or more seconds over
the rest of the favorites after the prolongue?

20 seconds, give or take. Unless they're really tall mountains and the
angular velocity approaches the speed of light.

So when Savoldelli descends he ages less rapidly than the rest of the
peloton.

BTW is that Salvodelli dude doing the giro this year ?

Last year an extra 20 seconds would have been very,
very significant.
