I know you guys don't support the death penalty, but for smoking in public you could surely make an exception.
One warning shot in the air and the next one between the eyes.

Interesting... does that count for open air places as well? In California, and a number of other American states, the (always expanding) laws prohibit smoking in most indoor businesses and buildings, but generally permit smoking your head off, outdoors, a certain number of feet from the door.

If so, that's astonishing. Can't say I'd mind it, though...

I couldn't agree with you more on this one...My mother has lung cancer now and every family member on her side has died cancer and surprisingly...they all smoked. Disgusting habit and for some reason they are so obnoxious about it...I can't wait for the day that it is banned in all public spaces....However, I find it funny that you are ok with that since you frown upon our patriot act..

My goodness, the range of topics Harry Potter brings up! :D

If they [whomever 'they' are] made smoking illegal, I wouldn't loose any sleep over it.

One of my pet peeves is seeing someone, who has just finished smoking a cigarette, throw it out the window of his/her car, right out into the environment, . . . . . sometimes I've seen the entire content of a whole ashtray on the ground. It makes me

Harry Potter may not turn kids/teens to Wicca, but RJ Renolds sure turns kids/teens into future/current 'addicts'.

Let's not gloss it over. It turns them in to smelly, yellow-toothed, saddlebag-skinned cancer machines with damaged upholstery in their cars and homes.

I didn't recognize him without the cycling gear. Are you a trail rider only or a bomber?

The smoking ban was brought in to protect the lives and health of those people who's place of work allowed smoking in Ireland.
Smoking was therefore banned in all public places such as shops, restaurants, pubs, nightclubs.
There was huge opposition from the hospitality industry.
They appointed lobbyists and formed pressure groups.
They cited statistics from New York to try to help their case.

The ban has been in for one year and it is an outright success.
The world has started to take our lead and Scotland (as mentioned) and New
Zealand are going to introduce the same legislation.
It is a very farsighted piece of legislation.

It is a pleasure to walk in to a shop, restaurant, pub and not have to breath in cigarette fumes.
I do have sympathy for smokers, they are addicted.

They can smoke out in the open air.

They cannot smoke indoors or in proximity to those who work outdoors ie Taxi's.
