heart rate monitors, 3 or more simultaneous zone timers

heart rate monitors

what i want to do is ride, then see what i did, HR wise
so i need at least 3 timers
each one would record the time spent in its respective zone

say
55-70%
70-85
85-95

would be nice if the timers on the end would also keep 'above and
below' times too

the sports instruments ones seem to work this way

[all the others that i know of, only have one zone timer active at a
time, if you want
to know about any other zone, you have to switch the timer yourself.
either that, or
it only has one zone.]

it would also be nice if you could set the zones yourself, and in terms
of %MHR [percent of max
heart rate], not just absolute HR.

is there such a thing?

i really don;t need lap timers, a million files, computer upload and
download, speed and cadence inputs, GPS, altimeters [don;t work
anyway], emergency flashlights, or ship-to-shore radio receivers..

i had a nice one, well 2 of them, sports instruments "Fit 3", but they
both broke, mechanically, the arms that hold the band on, snapped off.
this one came close to doing what i want

also i need it to have a decent watch, and daily alarm clock..

and calories burned

is that too much to ask?

oh and i don;t want it to cost over $90

what else
oh
backlight

:)

and don;t break

oh, and user replaceable batteries

I don't completely know what you're talking about, but I've used
fairly simple Polar HRMs where I set a middle zone and could see time
above and time below as well. I could have set it with your zone of
70-85 and then by riding with discipline of effort would be pretty
sure the time above and below were the other two zones.

I use a db500 that has many of these features. Now I'm wondering if there
are any HRMs that have these features yet don't need a separate strap
circling the chest. Everything built into a wristwatch would be sweet.

but - say you want to know the time you spent in each zone
do you HAVE to switch the zone manually?

i have a polar st150 [i think] and the annoyance is that, yes it has 3
zones
but only one is active at a time
you have to switch it manually
if you want to know how long you spent in another zone
