    (http://home.comcast.net/~carol.mclean/Home/techskills.htm).

    In those are the spikes you are referring to, a spike is a hop to an
    elevated platform, or something higher. So in class 7-2, "spike 8
    inches" means to hop up something that is 8 inches tall.

    It even says this on that page:
