I'm trying to improve my sprint + points race + 1km racing track bike. Now I have: self assembled forward wheel (dt spokes radial + miche primato track hub + carbon 38 mm 28 holes + tubular vittoria evo-cx), disc rear wheel (ambrosio 1985 (RESIN, 1,9 kgs............................) with CLINCHER vittoria open evo-cx).
The rear wheel is definetely too heavy. My bike is 8,4 kg with that, could be 1 kg less...not bad when swinging a sprint! I was thinking about buying a couple of 4- or 3- spokes wheels; remember that here in Italy we have only concrete, long velodromes (333->450 metres)...
I'm considering buying in the USA, because of the strenght of the euro... I'm considering a pair of HED 3 for track, it would be 1099$ = 780 euros (with charges and shipping would be 850...not bad!). A pair of Corima 4-spokes would be 1099...euros! :-(
What american industries also should I consider for 3- or 4- spokes wheels?
I could also keep my forward and just buy a new (lighter!) disc... a Renn one?
