Howdy yall, I'm Mark from cold and rainy Oregon. Got into riding a few years ago and only learned the difference between Ralieghs and Wal-Mart specials about a year ago. I'm looking to improve my riding skills, and get a couple new bikes. My Avatar is my 1965-69 Nishiki Olympic 10 that I got free and "modified".

Hey, Mark. I'm new, too. I live in Dallas and just bought my first road bike three weeks ago and am excited to begin distance riding. I rode 30 miles today and was pretty happy about that. .

Can anybody recommend some good newbie books that cover the basics - distance training, nutrition, etc?
