Hi All New here with a Question right off the bat!

Hi all, New to the Forum.

I just Brought a carrera subway off my mate.

Pretty much brand new, i will be using it for around 5-10mile per day.

My question is :

A) How Long do i need to wait before Servicing it?
And
B) Is there like a step by step guide on how to service the bike?

You can service it right away if you want to. It is always a good idea to service a pre-owned bike because you cannot be certain what maintenance the former owner did and if he did it right.

I agree with servicing it right away. Don't need to do a massive overhaul or re-build. Just have someone with the know-how (if that isn't you, take it to your LBS) to check for chain/cassette wear, break pad wear, lube moving parts, and adjust cable tension. While you are at it, also have them make sure that bolts are screwed on tight (headset/fork, seat post, bottom bracket, etc) as this could be a safety issue! Finally, examine tires for damage (cuts, tears, bulges). If there is any, replace them now.
