High heart rates during early morning rides, why?

Hi,

I'm doing regular early morning rides to the office and am surprised how fast my heart rate moves into D2 or even D3 zone while I'm trying to do an easy ride in D1.

I get up at 5:15AM, eat a few sandwiches, some fruit and then leave before 6 for a ~45KM ride. Since a while I'm following a training program and thus train in certain heart rate zones (D1/D2/D3). In these early morning rides and don't have to do much to get into D2 zone, for training later on the day, it takes much more effort te get into D2 or D3 zones.

Is this normal? Biological clock?
Or should I save my D2/D3 trainings for the afternoon and only do D1 trainings in the morning? Or are the D2/D3 training in the early morning also effective even when it (seemingly) does not take to much effort to get the heart rate in these zone?
