I did a google groups search but no answer, so here goes:
Anyone know of a hitch rack system that meets the following requirements:
1) 1-1/4" receiver 2) Receiver lock 3) Holds bikes with fenders securely (NOTE: do not recommend SportWorks; they specifically state that bikes with fenders should NOT be placed in their racks; lack of manufacturer confidence is exclusionary). 4) Holds two bikes with no sway (no way for 2 bikes to bump into one another). 5) Way to lock bikes to rack 6) Can handle odd-shaped frames, e.g., a Y-Foil
Please, no recommendations to carry bikes in the car (do not fit, do not want to buy a new car), no recommendations for roof racks (looking to change from roof racks).

Most wheel-support racks should fit that bill. How about the Tradekar SilverBike (http://www.roofbox.co.uk/tr424r.html - UK shop but prolly available Over There as well).

Thanks for the suggestion. Actually, most wheel-support racks do not work with fenders since the stabilizer arm cannot clamp far enough back on the front wheel. I will look at your suggestion and see if the stabilizer can work with fenders.

I have a Tradekar Silverbike with third bike adapter for transporting the family bikes at rear of car. The bikes are each secured at three points - front wheel & back wheel - each "tied on" by means of strap through wheel carrier and round rim. The there is an arm comes from the carrier which is clamped to the frame of the bike. It is *extremely* secure. One of the bikes transported thus has mudguards (fenders) and this does not impede the carrying of the bike as the mudguards aren't fixing points of the bike to the carrier. I've driven from the UK to Italy & back with three bikes loaded this way, also from UK to Paris, then Cologne & back and have had no problems with the bikes in any way. They are extremely secure.

All my bikes have them, and I have a Tradekar - it works :-)
The wheel support racks I've seen all support both wheels and the frame. I've not seen any that have stabiliser arms clamping on the wheels.
