    hi i'm looking for the guy who answered someone's querie about knee problems and homemade shims. or anyone who can help me with recumbent bike and knee trouble. thanks

    I used to make shims for my cleats sometimes out of aluminum and sometimes out of plastic. Don't screw around with this, get some LeWedges.

    They are specially designed to eliminate forefoot tilt which is the way most people's feet hang when dangling off the ground. The outside of your foot is probably lower than the inside. When you clip in, you force your feet into unatural positions. You can correct this condition with the shims, and also eliminate leg-length discrepancies as well by reverse stacking them.
