    The worst thing that we have around here are "heel flies", these are the adult stage of the common
    cattle grub. A bad actor, it hatches and burrows up through the tissues and pupates under the skin
    on the back of the animal.

    Cruising along about 12 mph, these little horrors will follow your leg in perfect circles trying to
    get a good spot to land and rip a hole in your leg to suck some blood and perchance lay some eggs.

    Lately my main problem has been scraping the gnats off of my teeth. They are so thick on the main
    irrigation canal where I ride the Vivo that they look like smoke. If I wasn't having so much fun I
    wouldn't grin as much.
