How about Trek vs. Gary Fisher.

There the same company promoting bikes that are very similar. Anyone have thoughts of one over the other. I'm only talking about modertly priced bikes and not the ones that are thousands.

From the bottom up to mid-high Fisher and Trek are very close. It just depends on how much you are willing to invest and if it’s more important to have a better fork or better rear derailer when you hit your $ limit. The two lines don’t compete head to head. Price usually goes up stepping from Trek to Fisher to Trek to Fisher until you hit the Fuel 7EX and then Trek has an advantage until you get up to the Fisher Fat Possum & Race Day. I still like the Fuel EX series over the Fat Possum & Race Day. There’s my opinion with a fair amount of Trek/Fisher knowledge to eliminate the purely emotional belief of one over the other.
