This is part of Shimano EF-50, EZ Fire, part number ST-EF35-8. There's a display that shows the current gear number.

See the red tick is aligned to the number? Mine's not quite aligned, the tick mark falls in between numbers. Switching gears is perfect, I can switch to any gear without any problems, no noise, no difficulty in switching, everything works except the mark is not aligned.
How do you adjust it so that it shows actual gear number instead of in between numbers?

I took the shifter apart. Looks like the number template is off by 1. this explain why the shifting works perfect while the number is not so hot.
