I had shoulder surgery five weeks ago, and at the one month point my Doc said it was ok to start riding again. So for the last week I've been taking it easy with a few shortish rides to make sure everything is put together right, and I feel its time to start ramping back up.
Before the surgery I was riding about 150 miles a week, a mix of short (2O mile) commuting days, mediums (50-60) with a century every third week or so.
Because I'm no spring chicken (58) I want to make sure I don't injure myself by just jumping on the bike at the old level. After a month of not riding, how much fitness have I lost and what is a conservative plan to get back to the 150 miles a week level?
