I have two bikes. The background is I've just recently started riding bicycles again. I'm 50. I have a Bike E budget recumbant which is the first bike I bought. Last month I bought a Giant OCR2. I switch between them. Each one works a slightly different muscle group.

I have three. One road bike (Ultegra/105) for weekend rides with friends. I keep this in mint condition (dusted, waxed, etc.) hanging from the garage door. The second is a Tiagra-based road bike for daily commuting. The third one is a Nexave400-based hybrid for back-up.

Had 1 MTB front susp (Trek 4400) and 1 Road (Specialized Sequoia). When my Spec. got stolen, the thief left a Jamis hardtail and flew off with the other. So I'm replacing the Spec'. with a Trek 1500.
Good excuse to increase the stable.
    Bikes are 'xpensive down here!

Three: a road bike, a cross bike, and a fixed gear. This is in fond imitation of the traditional European pro, who used to ride cross in the late Fall and Winter for variety, conditioning, and skills, fixed gear in January for smooth pedaling and cadence, and road the rest of the time, to kick ass.

Oh, I also have a beach bike at my brother's beachhouse.

    1 fendermonster for commuting,
1 hybrid that fits perfectly that was my first >5 speed bike, for "medium" rides
1 "Sunday go to century" aluminum frame skinny tyred delight.
I'm seen on a fourth that doesn't get ridden enough byh its owner so I have to take it out so it doesn't get depressed in the rack with its stablemates.

Fondriest Road, Trek 8500 mtb, Fuji Royale commuter, Redline cyclocross, older KHS Montana Pro for an upcoming SE Asia trip, homemade jumping 20" and a fillet brazed Co-Motion Mountain tandem that I built when I worked there. I ride all of them except the jumper(broken back on my last jump) and the tandem(no stoker).

If anyone asks why I have so many cycles, I ask them how many CDs (or books) they have. After all, once you have a CD/book, you've done music/reading, right?

    I need all my cycles:
ICE classic trike - for winter on light snow, ice, lakes, comfort, tours
ICE Micro trike - fast, low, speed, touring, commuting
BikeE semi-recumbent - convenience, comfort, shopping, touring
MTB - for off-road woodland trails
Trek carbon fibre - fast road riding
Cannondale tandem - for keeping us at the same speed
Birdy Blue folder - for train rides, plane, convenience, shopping
Unicycle - to show me how to get hurt in the comfort of my own yard.

I currently own two bikes (both are 3 speed English bikes, basicaqlly Raleighs).

I am thinking about buying a third, because I finally found one that is close enough to the 3 speeds I have loved over the course of my life.

Believe it or not its only 100 dollars and available from Target--Huffy Ocala Classic 6 speed cruiser. Fenders (mudguards) and all! Whoohoo!

Robin Williams must be lurking here, who else would have voted for "I never ride the same bike twice"?
