Hit your local shop - ask there!

Check some local forums (there are some on here, and there are bound to be others) - type your city and "cycling" into Google.

Have a look at http://gmap-pedometer.com to create your own routes.

I had the same problem, and while I've always been a bit of a loner, I knew lots of folks locally were getting new bikes, but seldom riding them. I started an email list going by hanging out at the LBS and letting them know, and we now have about 50 names on the list.

We now have a weekly ride Saturday morning that we add miles to throughout the season, and do mini classes on how to fix flats and the like. See if you can post an invitation to join your email bike ride list at your favorite LBS. It's a good way to get people excited about their new rides and meet some great folks.
