Can anyone point me to some online guides on this. I'm having a mental block on how to fit the cane creek headset which came with the frame I recently bought.
If anyone can help it would be much appreciated.

If you're inexperienced, it's best to have a shop install the headset, or at least the crown race on the fork and the star nut or expansion plug.

If you insist, here's the link to the Park Tools page: http://www.parktool.com/blog/repair-help/categories/headset-service. The "Star Fangled Nut and Expansion Plug Installation" and "Threadless Headset Service" sections should be helpful to you. Use the second link as more of a guide on how everything works together. On a newer Tarmac, the headset bearings are drop-in. Just insert the bearings into the frame dry and assemble as directed.

Thanks very much for the reply - I hadn't realised that some advice had been given
Worked this out for myself after a break!
Cheers
