Ha. Roll out of bed, rummage around for a shirt, pull on a pair of
shorts, shamble down corridor, switch on kettle, balance ghastlies on
nose, slump down at desk, sorted. Twenty seconds walk? Too energetic at
this time in the morning.

But, you know, we're privileged people.

FWIW, I'm on my 4th set of front and 2nd set of rear pads in 15,000 km on
the Speedmachine.

I reckon a cheap but new car might come out a bit like this per month:

Lease & Maintenance £275.00 (or finance, depreciation & maint)
Tax £15.00
Fuel £58.50
Parking £10.00
Insurance £40.00

ie in the region of 400 ukp per month.

Not sure how to cost a bike but, say 360 ukp bike written off over 3
years would be 10 ukp per month for the bike. Say, 5 ukp for
maintenance. If you throw in a bit of contribution for waterproofs
cycling clothes, you're still going to come in at under 20 ukp per
month.
