  1. Turns out that Camelbak valves DO fit on the hoses of
Hydrapak reservoirs. Well, after you attach that ergo-bendy
adaptor that Camelbak sells. Now the only question is how do
I get the valve/adaptor back through the rubber hose
retention ring, on the shoulder strap, so that I can remove
    the reservoir from the Hydrapak...?

Who'da thunk that this retro-fit would'a taken so much
    advance planing?

But, for the record, Hydrapak and Camelbak drinking valves
are interchangeable. Though I highly recommend getting the
Camelbak ergo-bendy adaptor as well as the Big Bit Valve.

I didn't get the ergo-bendy adaptor with the lock, as,
well... that would'a just been asking for trouble...<sigh>

Thanks to all who offered help.
