Hi,

I am re-engineering my forks at home and need some help with a formula. Can anyone help me? I need to know how much oil (2.5w) will pass through an 8mm port in 1 second at 600 PSI.

thanks,

If you don't mind me asking - why in the hell would you want to know that for?

At 600 psi the weight of the oil is meaningless. You would be talking liters per second and what could possibly be useful unless you think that you can replace the drive train in that manner. But you said "forks" and I assume that you are talking about hydraulic brakes. For that you require milliliters of movement

Yeah he's absolutely right. The weight of the oil doesn't matter at that much PSI but what do you mean by "Forks"?

"Wow, such a simple task. Just whip out your home lab equipment, measure the flow rate of 2.5w oil through an 8mm port at 600 PSI. No biggie. I'm sure you'll have it figured out in no time. ;) Or, you know, you could always consult a professional or something."
