HyperBike Has NASA Looking Twice (SPACE.com)

What nonsense.

1) No humanly possible power gain will make up for the incredibly bad aerodynamics.
2) The power gain from using the arms and body is small, if it exists at all, because your lungs and heart limit long term power more than your muscles.
3) It has a high center of gravity and can't bank for turns. Where's the added safety?
4) It is too wide to ride at the side of the road or in bike lanes, and too slow to drive with traffic. Useless.

Perhaps the creator has legitimate reasons for building this thing, but if so the claims in the attached article only make his work look ridiculous.

The Hyperbike is a working prototype for a human-powered vehicle that will be faster than a traditional bicycle and much safer.
