But I am looking to get the Polar software with the 610 or
810 and see what it offers. The ability to download my stats
and to remember pain/fatigue etc and be able to tie that to
cardio/distance/altitude is appealing.

But I am looking to get the Polar software with the 610 or
810 and see what it offers. The ability to download my
stats and to remember pain/fatigue etc and be able to tie
that to cardio/distance/altitude is appealing.I'm using the s510 which connects to the computer via sonic
link (clever way of saying that the software "listens" to
the watch via the computer's microphone) so there is no need
for the infra-red hardware.I've been running in road races and triathlon's for over 14
years, and I have never successfully kept a "runner's log"
until I got this software. Now I have to jump on the
computer the moment I get home after a workout. I download
the HR info and my chart of exertion magically pops up. It
really motivates me to keep the log going (for about 9
months now). The s510 also has cyclocomputer functions so it charts HR
and speed. I don't do any HR Zone training specifically, but
I do use it to monitor how much time I'm spending in my
zones on a weekly basis.Right now I am finding that it will really help me with my
hill training as my HR typically mimics the terrain that I'm
running or biking on.I would say that the software could use some help. It has a
"mid 90's" look and feel, but it is huge improvement over
not having it all.Personally I would not use the software at all if my
HR monitor didn't have the ability to communicate with
the computer.-CF

I've been using RunLog for about 7 years now.
pegasussoftware.comdefault.htmOpen ↗ The latest
version (and I'm not sure if this is included in the release
version, or is still only in the beta versions), can
automatically import data from the Polar Precision
Performance software if a file exists for the date you're
working with. It will also provide a direct link to your HRM
data from the RunLog calendar view, with a little heart icon
in the corner of the date square. I like the PPP software
for it's HRM data manipulation, but still much prefer the
RunLog format for the majority of its logging, graphing and
reporting features. I have a Polar s410 with PPP v.3.0Perdy.
