....from my ride from Newcastle to, er, Newcastle. Including
the ride to/from the local train station I did 446 miles in
10 days. Route was Newcastle-Ashington day 1, Ashington-
somewhere west of Berwick-upon-Tweed day 2 (98 miles), that
place to Hawick day 3, Hawick to Dalston (near Carlisle) day
4, Dalston to Workington day 5, Workington to just west of
Keswick Day 6, to 7 miles west of Penrith Day 7, to Nenthead
day 8, to Consett day 9, and to Newcastle day 10. I used
various Sustrans & related routes: Coast & Castles, Border
Loop, Reivers Route, and the C2C. Accomodation was camping,
except in Nenthead because I couldn't find a suitable campsite
with spaces. Best part of the C2C section was that I got up
all the big climbs with all 21kg or so of luggage without
stopping.
I may do a more detailed report if anyone's interested, I have
some pictures too.
