I'm looking for a pretty good road bike around 500$ It can be used or old. I would also like it to be somewhat durable. Also I found a Giant Defy 2 2010 model for 500$ is this a good deal, and could someone tell me more about the bike.
I need help buying my first road bike.

I found that Craigslist has a good amount of road bike sellers. The sellers I've come across are selling their bikes because they have upgraded to full carbon.
I was able to get my first road bike (2010 Specialized Allez Sport Comp) for $550 several weeks ago from a local seller on Craigslist. Excellent condition, only 200 miles on it.
From doing a quick Google search on the bike you speak of, 2010 Giant Defy 2, it looks like it goes for in the $500 range. So, it's not a bad deal I would say.

If the Defy is new or is in really good, well cared for condition, then $500 is a really good price. If it has been beat up or ridden rough and not cared for, then it is not worth it.
