Thanks to the wonky shoulder, I was back to walking my work commute.
[Good news is I start biking again tomorrow.]
Yippee!!!
Anyways some other things I noticed walking the route I usually bike:
o It takes almost exactly three times as long to walk as bike. My time to
work at a leisurely pace is 13-15 minutes @ 6.5 km by bike and 15-17 minutes
from work [more uphill, and more tired from work] depending on weather and
traffic. Hoofing it on foot is 40-50 minutes.
o It took conscious effort to time breaks in traffic to cross streets in
terms of foot speed rather than bike speed.
o Given the unseasonably mild temps, I really miss the convection cooling of
bike speeds.
o At night I definitely feel less visible on foot. I do tend to wear dark
clothing. Maybe I should have attached my blinkies....
