my new trex 2300 has a bontrager carbon fiber fork and stem. while riding over bumps,even sidewalk cracks,it makes an anoying icthing or creaking type noise.is this the carbon fiber or should i check with my dealer?

I had the same problem with my Trek. Here are a few things to try;1/ Check the cap at the top of the steerer tube. Make sure it is not too tight.
Take the cap off and go for a ride. If the noise goes away, put the cap back on but only tighten till the cap is not loose.2/ Check the headset. Make sure it is tight enough. If the headset is loose and the noise goes away after tightening, but comes back after a few rides, there is a problem with the headset.
