Idea: Co-op ads in Bicycling/Outside promoting recumbents

How does that sound? Seem like it would boost recumbents?

I gather that recumbent companies are too small to buy ad space in major
outdoor magazines like Bicycling and Outside.

So what if a bunch of bike makers and major shops and media resources
banded together and bought a block of quarter-page color ads in those 2
mags one year, from, say, March-June. Plus maybe some slots in metro
fitness tabloids. I bet an ad agency could get a good price if a dozen
or so placements were bought for 4 months running.

Make the ad have a cool black background/framing with a different kind
of recumbent image in the 'live space' each month---with the image being
a bit 'motioned' or blurred somehow---showing fit young people on
recumbents. Show the wide, wild range of recumbents with a series
including: LWB, CWB, hi-racer, tandem, trike...let's say. Then have an
overprint slogan with a few simple words. Maybe like: "Fast, fun, comfy,
safe." Then underneath in the black frame just list the sponsors. Hit em
with a big diversity of clout.

I'd think that such a steady presence impact might really open up the
heads of the market to the big scene that already exists for recumbents
but which not that many people know about.

Just an idea...
