  1. I am trying to learn how to idle, but am having some trouble. Every
time I try to pedal backwards, the uni just moves in some random
direction or just falls out from under me. Any advice on idling?

Are you holding onto something? If not, try it. Particularly at first,
if available, a place where you can hold onto something with both hands.
This will help you get the feel. Don't rely on holding on for too long,
but it should help you get started.

Keep at it, idling is very important.

    Good luck,

  3. use the search feature, and try learning backwards to get comfortable
with the pedaling direction. if you havent done the level 3 "ride
forward, stop, pedal 1/2 revolution backwards, continue forwards" you
might want to master that. it's a good way to bridge the gap.
