I used to be a mountain biker a decade ago during my college years, but after college moved onto focusing on my career and haven't ridden since. Am now looking to get back into biking, for fitness, and am trying to decide between the Raleigh Cadent I8 versus a Diamondback Insight STI-8. The Cadent I8 seems to be very, very new and my local bike shop says they can get it for me for $700, and they say they recommend it over the Diamondback, but I am able to find 2012 model Diamondback Insight STI-8 in my size online for a couple hundred less. I am unable as yet to find anyone selling the 2013 model of the STI-8. That being said, I am having difficulty figuring out from the components lists if it would be justified to spend 40% more to go from the Diamondback to the Raleigh. Would anyone be able to chime in on this?
