Apparently a student on a bicycle was hit by a car:
"School officials said they banned bikes at Wauconda Grade School because of increased traffic in the area and an accident this spring in which a pupil was hit by a car, though not seriously injured, while riding to school."
Perhaps they should ban cars. Won't the traffic pose a threat to others besides bicycle riders?

I just finished watching the end of some documentary on the Discovery Channel about overweight people in America. Overweight children were discussed also. Part of the problem is our lifestyle. And it is amazing how some have given up on trying to change lifestyle. 'We're prosperous and we will not change our sedentary lifestyle in order to look better or live healthier' is the message. Fortunately, not everyone has that attitude.
