You bugger!! I wanted in on that!
I didn't find out about it until too late (like most stuff here) and missed entry.
I could get one but i'd have to buy a new bike or raise a grand or so for charity.. err.. no.

Are you gonna be around for the race too?

Yeah it was a toughy to get a ticket..i stayed up till midnight and
kept refreshing the webpage till the buy now option was visible:) got
most the way through the purchase and it bombed out, twice! before i
actually made it through (which i later discovered three lots of $98
entry fee's taken from my cc:( )
but thats all sorted

yeah will be in euro till the 15th i think..we're doing the ride on
the 1st, then heading possibly to austria to do a few days of riding,
then back for the start of the race

staying in notting hill so its not so far to travel for the 1st
stage..im being overly hopefull that i'll actually be able to see
anything at all :)

Considering the calendars just entered into June means .... TdF next month! SBS has a countdown on their site: 29 days, or should that be sleeps?

Immediately putting myself into training for .. sitting up late(r) and talking even more ****. Wonder what ad's SBS will have on high-rotation this year?

A la Merri Rose? If so it's gonna end in tears or a punchup at the SBS Xmas party ... ;)

Well, we have had 2 years in a row of:
crazy, strobing Avanti ads
Skins "we ain't paying no-one...."
And a Macquarie Bank dude throwing boomerangs that come back bigger...

Please, please don't make it 3 years in a row, SBS!!!

Cheers,
Abby

How'd you go? I managed to get a late entry and did the 187k in 7:03, stopping at all feed stations and riding solo save for 2x 15min stints in bunches. Total for the day (Ealing to Greenwich for start and return added) was 237k which is the furthest I've done in a single day. Average was around 28kph, not bad for me!

There's tonnes of bike-related events on. I'm finally doing Dunwich Dynamo and there's a stack of Rollapuluza roller races on too. Rapha and the LCC and probably every other cycling company/org are organising a ride to the start of the prologue too.

You still marshalling the London stage? I was idly considering a game of Spot the Hippy, ie: a badly conceived drinking (or eating) game where the participants take a sip everytime they *think* they see hippy (or a hippy). Might also help if the participants know (or recall) what you look like.

much more fun if we dont remember what he looks like - more
opportunities for drinking

Yeah, 8am Sat we are supposed to meet somewhere for briefing.

Well if it's a game centred on spotting me it'd have to be drinking AND eating! :D

Say, a pot of beer and a cherry ripe (coz I miss 'em)? :)

Recent evidence of drunken competitiveness on the rollers..
