In good mental and emotional condition when driving

Not long ago there was a rider in our village who crashed against a store when he avoided being hit by a vehicle. While being brought to the hospital, someone asked what happened. The boy said that he was out of his focus because he had broken up with his girlfriend. That talk circulated in our village because it's not an ordinary accident. But come to think of it, don't ride when your mental and emotional condition are not good because you may just meet an accident.

I think a lot of people are not in their right minds when they are driving. Some are just plain ignorant, selfish and aggressive, but I'd guess that in general people are carrying a lot of stress from everyday living. For me, cycling is relaxing, enjoying the scenery. I have no interest in performance as some guys are with their exotic road bikes. I can't see the point in getting from A to B in a short time on a weekend ride... unless it's raining. ;)
