Boulder cyclist expected to return to racing today after 2-year

After spending more than two years trying to clear his name and
countless hours trying to maintain his fitness, Tyler Hamilton will
finally start to see if it was all worth it today.

The Olympic gold medalist from Boulder is scheduled to compete in his
first sanctioned race since being suspended more than two years ago
for blood doping. He has always maintained his innocence and fought
fiercely to overturn the suspension, handed down after a positive test
for blood doping in 2004.

His efforts did not shorten the two-year suspension, but he did
continue to train. A majority of the time in the saddle was spent in
the mountains west of Boulder, and that paid off in a contract with
the new Tinkoff Credit Systems team. Hamilton is scheduled to debut
with that team today at the GP d'Ouverture La Marseillaise in France.
