Hello,

I am new to road cycling (I do alot of MTB) and need some information on the above listed bike.

I can't seem to find anything about the Koppenberg, except that it is a famous hill in the TDF race.

It also has a component group on it that is Shimano Tiagra, which I can't find much about it at all either.

On the plus side, it weights in at about 18lbs, has a carbon front fork and seatpost, and a nice Selle saddle.

Just wondering if anyone has any info on it such as price it used to sell for, if it's decent for a beginner, if the Cipressa was the bike that replaced it (they look very similar) etc.

Thanks for the help!

Probably not a lot of help but...
Here is a link to a 2003 catalog that lists both the Koppenberg and Cipressa, but without much details:
http://www.mongoosebikes.com.au/resources/road_bikes_background.pdf

More sparse specs here:
http://www.epinions.com/bicycles_2003_Mongoose_Koppenberg/display_~full_specs

and another with Czech prices:
http://www.volny.cz/sport22/katal_03/kola/mong3/road.htm

Tiagra is placed between Sora and 105 in Shimano's lineup. 9-speed. see:
http://bike.shimano.com/Road/Tiagra/index.asp

Can't offer any direct knowledge of experiences with them.
